Black Futures in Art: The Space Between Us is an exhibition at the Dairy Art Center
https://thedairy.org/black-futures-in-art/
This exhibition is curated by artist Adderly Grant-Lord. Adderly describes her vision for the ten artists chosen as those who pay tribute to the past and explore the future. Adderly hopes we will consider the bridges we can build between us instead of staying stuck in our divisions and separations between people, communities and cultures. The artists’ work allows us to reflect on those separations from the past and future. The bridges can show us ways to look back into why and look forward into the “creativity, resilience and humanity” awaiting us. Learn more about Adderly at https://www.adderlyart.com/

Artist Adri Norris who we spoke, with several years ago about the launch of her series, Women Behaving Badly, is in this exhibition launching her women in hip hop series. While women were in the very beginning of hip hop they have often been overlooked even as their numbers and fame has grown. Thus, her new series fits into her Women Behaving Badly series which lifts up women we need to know. Adri updates us on her various projects across the US found in https://www.afrotriangle.com/
We end with a clip by conscious hip hop artist, RO$$AY part of the Denver underground.
